Financial Literacy

Our organization provides financial counseling to help you create an efficient spending plan and manage your money better. We cover a variety of topics, including budgeting, paying down debt, using credit wisely, and financial freedom. We take a solution-focused approach to counseling. By helping clients uncover the causes of their financial distress and supporting them through education, we help consumers make positive changes in their day-to-day lives.

Homebuyers Counseling

We partner with Southern Community give comprehensive individual counseling services for potential homebuyer clients who seek to purchase a home. We understand that where you live is incredibly important to you. Our counselors are trained in housing issues to help you weigh your options, develop a plan, and make the best choices for you and your family. We offer education on a variety of topics, including preparing for home ownership, shopping for a home, obtaining a mortgage, closing, and life as a homeowner.

SHIIP/MIPPA Program

The Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) provides free one-on-one counseling, education, and information to individuals with Medicare of all ages. SHIIP assists with applications for Medicare subsidy programs like Medicare Savings Program and Extra Help. The Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) is a multi-faceted piece of legislation related to Medicare. One important provision of MIPPA is the allocation of federal funding to help low-income Medicare beneficiaries apply for programs that make Medicare affordable. We offer this free service to individuals who qualify according to their income and assets.
